Please carefully release ALL smallmouth bass. These native fish can reproduce naturally in our small creeks & are usually NOT stocked (like trout) by state fish commissions.  Kindly refrain from holding bass out of the water (for picture taking) any longer then you can hold your own breath. They must attain an age of 12-15 years to grow to a length of 17- 18" in most small creeks.  You remove the prime breeder stock if you kill these trophy smallmouth. They face repeated threats from floods, droughts, temperature extremes and pollution.  Please don't make yourself their worst enemy!
